Interesting.  Sounds like the Chinese Theater didn't.   Was it full-screen IMAX, or more likely a sub-section of screen?  Full-width anamorphic on the trailer?

I don't think the screen was full IMAX although I could easily be wrong.

P.S. I didn't understand 90 percent of Rami Malek was saying when he was talking. Neither did my friends.

Since it's gotten rather quiet around here lately (which is probably a mixed blessing):

Is Cooper really that much taller than Cooper?  Is the kid standing in a hole?  Is Brad standing on a step?

Cooper's wearing boots with higher heels, that probably made him much taller.

Jeremy Blackman

I'd wager Cooper the Elder is on a deck or porch or raised platform. Would make sense considering there's a fence nearby. (Residential area?)

Yes, it's a house up in the hills--I'm assuming Jon's.  And, yes, I'm thinking at least a two-level balcony/deck sort of thing.  Plus, it works in the scene, because it makes Peters much more intimidating and 'larger-than-life'.

Big Cooper is 1.85, little Cooper is a bit taller than Alana (1.7), so maybe 1.74-1.75 max. Plus Jon Peters is wearing chukka boots in these scenes, judging by the photos from set.

Actually, Bradley Cooper is two kids in a trench-coat. The wig distracts you from that reality. Cooper H. is a small adult. Alana? Still too old to play a nineteen years old.

I am genuinely curious what people are gonna say about this. I mean we still don't know for sure that she's nineteen or any other age, but are people gonna have a problem w her playing a young high schooler's love interest? I personally think she looks really young and it's not gonna bother me at all. I just hope it doesn't become too big a point of conversation around the movie. (I realize that's sort of what I'm doing, but I feel like here is a safe space to predict and complain about discourse without contributing to it).

Jeremy Blackman

My best guess: Alana believes her maturity level is notably higher than Hoffman's, but it turns out... not? I mean she literally sticks her tongue out in the trailer.

Drenk

There's literally a line in the trailer that says: "Is it weird?". So it will be a discourse in the sense that the movie won't shy away from the age difference. Even if the way the question is articulated, this seems to be about "Gary's friend" and not "Gary". This is delicate. Maybe the movie will end with Alana being arrested after a reveal about the way she kept showing her boobs to high school kids around the country.

But yeah, she looks younger than 29. And most people won't know she's 29.

Even back in the day, a twenty-year-old hanging out with 15-year-olds would have felt 'weird'--and I'm not talking sexually.  Five years at that age is a much bigger gap than when you're in your thirties, for example.

Reminds me that Madisen Beaty (Doris) was 16 during The Master's filming - and Joaquin is supposed to be 20-something in their scenes - yet they avoided any kind of discourse (at least that I am aware of).

Keep also in mind that in an AMA, Paul named Call Me by Your Name his favorite 2017 film.
