Neil

What do you think, i was thinking about getting them?
it's not the wrench, it's the plumber.

modage

i have may found them online but for the most part its pretty great.  more bass, the difference is noticeable on the earlier stuff definitely.  i was doing a side-by-side comparison this morning with my old cds and the new ones and it was pretty easy to hear the difference.  i was only doing random tracks from each album but the only case where i preferred the original was I Saw Her Standing There, the new mix has dulled the sharp rockin' guitars.  i'll be interested to hear what everybody else thinks.
Christopher Nolan's directive was clear to everyone in the cast and crew: Use CGI only as a last resort.

They definitely sound cleaner. I think Ringo will finally get his due. I wouldn't drop the cash on the boxset (I'd rather use it for Beatles Rock Band) but the V0 I grabbed is excellent.

Bongripper - Hate Ashbury

One of those amazing bands with an incredibly embarrassing name.

Obviously what you are doing right now is called (in my upcoming book of psychology at least) validation. I think it's a normal thing to do. People will reply, say anything, and then you're gonna do what you were subconsciently thinking of doing all along.

They're a local Chicago act, insofar unsigned but if they stick together, it won't be for long.  It's like drone/doom/sludge, their albums usually run 79 minutes and a remainder of seconds, and are often only one song that can occasionally be broken down into tracks for convenience, but they all flow together.  It's a bit trying if you're not into feedback and the like, but if you're like me, you'll get addicted to it.

Speaking of addiction, they had a limited boxset for an album of theirs called Heroin where the CD came in a little box that also had a spoon, lighter, and other heroin essentials.

Gimmicks aside, a fairly solid group.

Brain Children - Brain Children EP

this EP was getting some hype when I was in Australia a few months back, and i've been feverishly trying to track it down since i've been back. It's a collaboration between Max Kohane,  drummer for grindcore band Agents of Abhorrence and Mikey Squires, frontman for Eddy Current Suppression Ring. These guys decided to team up and make an old school electro/disco album and so far it's my favorite release of the year. I hope to hear more from them!
