One of my favorite albums of all time. More vicious than any gangsta rap album out there, and more beautiful than anything that has ever happened in an opera house. Truly a paradox. The piano line in Lovely Creature gets stuck in my head at least once every couple months.

Ah, to be experiencing all these great albums for the first time. I hope you consider yourself lucky.

Hold Tight London, Surface To Air and the remarkable Close Your Eyes... every now and then I have to revisit this album for those three tracks.

I swear I'm gonna use Marvo Ging in a film someday.

down boy on repeat.

oh man, you know that feeling when you're dying to hear something but you don't know what it is, so you search your entire music collection playing random tracks for 30 seconds before almost giving up -- and then finally finally finally you find that one song or album that satisfies you and it's the GREATEST FEELING?

I get ya. That's a GREAT EP. I HATED Show Your Bones, but loved Fever To Tell. It was probably my favorite album of 2003. I hope their next album is in the same style as Isis. There's just a raw energy there that Show Your Bones doesn't have. It just felt overproduced and was missing that fire. It felt like a band making an album to get on the radio instead of making an album because they like making music.

I hadn't heard anything by Nick Cave until a couple weeks ago. Found this and No More Shall We Part used and blind-bought them. I was quite a bit impressed with Murder Ballads. Since then I've had Where the Wild Roses Grow, Stagger Lee, and Death Is Not the End spinning around in my head mercilessly.

Anyways, I got Lon Gisland from Beirut

Good call!

I LOVE that cover.

I don't know if you've actually seen it in person but the area that is supposed to be glass has this slightly raised and smooth texture to it. I picked up the DVD that contains all of the Big Dada videos as well. Both well worth the purchase.
