i like a.c. newman, too, though.
to me, one Wolf Parade singer sounds similiar to Beck, while the other reminds me of Bowie at times.

at first look i thought you were cutting me down like 'if i know rock music i should already know what the other was.'

BSP is another band i've heard about over the years, but not checked out.

What are you? A 12 year old girl?

I give up on this band. No Jon Theodore = it's just a couple of munchkins running around a stage making noise and wearing womens jeans.

Oh sorry, did I break some kind of secret indie code of cool in here....We don't listen to Mars Volta anymore....well, anyway if you decide to come down from your horse and listen to it you will find out that it is the coolest thing the've made since Comatorium...and the new drummer is ace - I think I like his style even more than Jon Theodores..

haha , sorry about that. it is a rather cryptic title with a fucking awesome explanation that can be found here:

I listened to it. It's terrible and the new drummer doesn't have half the chops of Jon Theodore. He can't hit the same fills and doesn't have the same rhythm. And Cedric's voice is more annoying than ever. It's unfortunate that Omars small solo records are better than Mars Volta these days. Check the MV thread. I used to be a HUGE fan.

how did i miss this?  North American Scum makes me want to dance like all the time.
Christopher Nolan's directive was clear to everyone in the cast and crew: Use CGI only as a last resort.

Yeah, it's a great album. My favorite song is probably new york I love you, which is odd since it's the complete opposite of the rest of the album. Great, great album.

Love LCD Soundsystem!  My favorite is Someone Great.  Whether you're looking for good running music or not, definitely check out 45:33.

mine, too.
the song lengths overwhelm me at times, but i keep coming back to the album.
All My Friends is so celebrated this year (at least i know at Pitchfork) and honestly i always skipped that song, but now i like it.

who has that 2 disc self-titled album?
i've been eyeing that for a while now, just haven't wanted to plunk down 20 bones.

What's this sudden infatuation with these guys... to answer your question bigideas, I have the self-titled album and Tribulations is really the only decent track on there.
