Good catch! I can throw ya another if spoil-allusionz are your bag;

Alana's first gig is a photog assistant, not dissimilar to Freddie's department store job. Obviously there's a beautiful portion of Woodcock photographing Alma in different collections. Paul loves a frame-within-a-frame-wthin-a-frame.

Thanks that's really interesting! I love the little connections between his films.

I wonder if there's any significance to the fun fact that the photographer is played by Paul's First AD/Co-Producer Adam?

Cool.  I photographed the truck and machines yesterday--but they were covered up with blankets and such at the time.  I did stick my head in the door for a peek at the palace--but there was a woman inside giving me some "what do YOU want?" vibes.  I complimented her on how it looked so far, and wished them good fortune to get ready in time for the Sunday opening...

There's a review been posted on Bright Wall/Dark Room, thought I'd post it cause their stuff is always worth a read, but I only skimmed it cause it goes quite in-depth so is probably better if you've seen the film. https://www.brightwalldarkroom.com/2021/11/19/licorice-pizza/

I  dunno how big his role is so whether it was planned or not, but Laura Hynd who was the set photographer for Phantom Thread did an interesting interview where she says she was asked quite last minute to have an onscreen part in the film:

Reading Wilber's interactions with some of the people he runs into (on sets, in theaters, promotional exhibitions(?) etc.) the weird hostility for no reason that I used to find unrealistic in Curb Your Enthusiasm's LA has started to make sense

Same thing happened when, on the way home from the screening yesterday, I stopped at the location where the poster was photographed.  I had camera-on-tripod set up in a parking space that, naturally, after only a couple of shots, the owner arrived and wanted to use.  I waved an apology and moved my stuff very quickly.

When I saw that he had a key to the courtyard of the building that he was fumbling with I asked, "Would you mind if I took a couple of shots inside the courtyard?  They filmed a movie here last year; were you around for that...?"

"Yeah, I don't know what your talking about...", a long pause and that same look.  "I'm not the one that let you in here.  Make it quick, will ya...?"

She is so charming and sweet.  The wait to watch this film is unbearable.

I forgot about the period cameras on set!  Those would be awesome photos to see.  Maybe for the Blu-Ray release.  Or the Director's Cut in two years.   :yabbse-grin:

Does anyone know if anyone got a recording of the london panel paul and alana did with mark kermode. Would be really cool to hear that one knowing how much mark loves and respects Pauls work.
