Short interview on video with Florencia, Michael and Andy.

https://deadline.com/2021/11/licorice-pizza-michael-bauman-andy-jurgensen-florencia-martin-contenders-los-angeles-1234872594/

(And, yes, I think Andy is 15.)

Nice catch! Thanks for sharing. Always nice getting to hear from the people who rarely get the spotlight shined on them. I wish this could've been a 30+ minute interview—I would've lapped that right up.

Wrongright is reaching. Idk why he has such a transparent agenda to dislike a movie he hasn't seen in a fan thread, it's a bit weird.

Anyways that review reads like he really likes it moment to moment but isn't sure it works as a whole and overcomes its meandering structure.

Which is going to be the barrier for this to be accessible enough to make a lot of money and win best picture or even screenplay. Like all of PTA's films.

And that's why we love him. I love Phantom Thread but tbh the first viewing I was shocked that he had a suspenseful plot with actual payoff and for a moment thought that was a cop out before I came to my senses.

Because making a film that is powerful and meaningful without a lot of narrative, where he can put atmosphere and character front and center, that was always what made him so special to me.

It'd be nice to have a film from him that makes hundreds of millions and sweeps the oscars, but not if that is at the expense of making something special and different.

Having seen this twice, it is special and different and that might cost it in terms of 'accessibility' but if it ends up being a box office hit, I'd put that entirely on how charming the character/performance of Alana Kane/Haim is.

It's not an agenda to dislike it. You said it yourself, there' a barrier which is what I've been saying. But that's more for the Awards thread.

And what you say about PT, that's because of Tichenor. Which is why I'm already wondering how this film would've been like with him. Would "messiness", "meandering", "scattershot" keep popping up with Tichenor in the editing room? He likely would've pushed for more of an actual story.

An "actual story" ??? Who the f*ck cares about story in a PTA movie? His movies have always been character driven and experiential, that remind of greats like Altman and Lynch(which this dipshit cited as having made his fav films previously). Like sorry for my language but this guy has been obsessively searching for bad reviews and cherry picking them from forums and twitter stuff to bring down the hype in a fan forum fr God's sake. Trying to bring down the mood of a dozen or so fans visiting the board and ruining their expectations in anticipation of the movie.  He clearly strawmans arguments here and when confronted, shifts the goalposts or contradicts himself. Bringing up oscars and the reactions of dumbass bloggers like we care about them.

He clearly hates PTA which I don't care but trying to ruin the experience of others because of his hate seems like the most selfish thing to do.

Hate that this is my first comment in the forum as a long time lurker but this guy has been such an annoying pest lol.

Also the best two movies of his Inherent vice and the Master were not edited by Dylan, so stop bringing up lack of story or "meandering" and go get some other addiction dumbass.

Anyway insanely hyped for Licorice Pizza.

Yes, it's all you've been saying. Which is strange. My comment is saying that's not a bug but a feature and your comment is just repeating the same comment again.

You'll deny it, but I'm pretty sure you're thelastsnowking, and what annoys me about your comments here is the same as the comments there on reddit.

They are transparent, low-IQ, and repetitive. Their agenda is insincere, you keep pretending to be coming at it earnestly, but we all know what you really are.

Your comments only bother me because they remind me how annoying some people can be, and it's depressing.

Derekk_kal

Like seriously this guy has been annoying the hell out of the forum for the past few weeks, trying to attract everyone to his dumbass posts and occupying 90 percent of the posts in here. A PTA film is an event that occurs roughly once every 4 years and we do not need this single troll to ruin for us. @wrongright  Your posts here is not going to affect the critical reception or oscars or box office of  movie in anyway. You are just bringing the mood down for a handful of fans. You clearly need help!

If he continues it is better to ban him at least for our own sanity!

You know you can mute members right? It's great! Also just don't engage or reply if they annoy you so much.

Why do y'all let wrongright get to you to the point of 'ruining the movie' for you? Just ignore him. Who cares what he thinks? Get hyped by all the positive reviews coming out, see the few less-than-glowing snippets shared, look up and see who posted them, say to yourself "oh, it's wrongright," and discount accordingly.

Which is to say, wrongright hasn't dampened my excitement for this film one bit.

Muting one does not mean I can mute the dumb replies to the muted members by the other unmuted members, whom I would prefer not to mute. So ideally everyone mutes him or no one responds to him or he is banned lol.

Btw he is not dampening my anticipation literally but when I visit the forum to get some news or look reactions (even less than glowing), all I see are bad faith interpretations by that guy and some annoyed replies to him, all the time.

Of course that's his reaction.
