^It's good, if a bit uneven.

I liked it overall. Doesn't have a killer What's A Girl To Do? track, but I think it's a better album. Reminded me a bit of Goldfapp's Seventh Tree.

^ I can't wait to hear this. I'm holding out for V0 or FLAC, but I really can't wait.

FYI - I made the mistake of buying it directly from him/his record co - it is a rip.

They charged almost $7 to ship one CD, one sticker and one postcard (the last two 'exclusive' but nothing special). The CD itself was already $15 on top of that.

I was thinking he'd do something cool like send a Polaroid like with the last album, but what you see on the site is what you get.

p.s. Another cover photo by Roman
p.p.s. Like last time the CD includes unlisted demos for all the songs. I don't believe these come with any MP3/iTunes downloads, but I'm not sure.

So i finally made it through this. At times its like a pleasant migraine. A lot of stuff going on in this record just like the last one but it seems like Dan actually left his bedroom and his laptop to get some of the sounds this time around. The first track is probably my favorite. Surprise Stephanie is pretty close to some of animal collective's stuff (which is a good thing). Woof Woof is a really fun track that incorporates some slightly tweaked bass guitar and a dog barking sample. The last track is all over the place and its what made me think of "fun migraine". In the headphones it really is almost too much. Almost every song lasts like 7 minutes. Deacon really has a way of sonically assaulting your ears.  Unlike his last album there are actually more than three tracks i really like on the album. Check it out when you get a chance. There's just something about Baltimore that produces some of the best music.
