Meh. I gave it a couple spins, and nothing stuck with me. She has a great voice, but none of the songs stood out.

for the most part i can't stand this band these days, but i saw it in my iTunes tonight and remembered that it used to be my favorite album. it does have some really great songs even if they're nothing like the animal collective, fuck buttons, and grizzly bear that i adore today. i haven't listened to it in its entirety in a few years, but here it is, now playing:

Obviously what you are doing right now is called (in my upcoming book of psychology at least) validation. I think it's a normal thing to do. People will reply, say anything, and then you're gonna do what you were subconsciently thinking of doing all along.

You know, people can say a lot of things to me about the Dave Matthews Band and they will all be met with relative indifference on my part. I've never understood the breathless adoration most fans show, and I never understood the hate their detractors continually express... DMB, to me, are competent musicians that exist way outside my musical world but...

this statement makes me want to wrap my arms around them and thank each member personally.

Also, The Hold Steady are opening for them a bit this summer and, if that is their doing, they have good taste.

Maybe every day is Saturday morning.

i've seen dmb about 10 times and i've seen each of those other bands once. all put on exceptionally entertaining shows. i'm curious... what's your beef with the other three?

edit: btw,

Been On A Huge Blur Kick Lately

I haven't heard much news after they announced the shows this year.

Have they spoken of recording a new album with Coxon?

btw - anyone familiar with Coxon's solo albums and recommend any?

so far it's two huge concerts at hyde park, and then it's various festivals around the u.k. and some in europe (i think). there's currently nothing surrounding a new album with coxon, he recently released his seventh solo album which will probably sell six copies worldwide. i only own his first solo album "the sky is too high" which is okay. i haven't heard the other ones but i think "happiness in magazines" is his most commercial releases to date.

i asssume the above statement is songs they plan to play live......cause that would be pretty crazy if they had that many songs to record.......(although Albarn seems pretty prolific).

Cotton Jones - Paranoid Coccoon

I wouldn't call it a great record all the way through - it's a little same-y - maybe bad track order, but I find myself going back to it some.

It's Michael Nau aka Page France aka Cotton Jones Basket Ride, now just Cotton Jones.

One of my favorite album covers of the year so far.

I listened to this on repeat during a three hour flight this weekend. Near-perfect album.
My assholeness knows no bounds.
