I want my link back! Seriously though I've been listening to this on repeat for days now. Daylight is the catchiest song since sliced bread.

Passion Pit - Chunk of Change

This little ep is great. The first and last tracks are really fun.

haha, i went to school with this guy. i see him every now and again and he's all like, oh, i'm going to japan b/c apparently i'm sort of famous now. i'm like, yeah, sho, whateva. i haven't heard the album but i guess i should? anyway....

i have a woman inside my soul, and her name is yoko ono.
The corpses all hang headless and limp bodies with no surprises and the blood drains down like devil's rain we'll bathe tonight I want your skulls I need your skulls I want your skulls I need your skulls Demon I am and face I peel to see your skin turned inside out, 'cause gotta have you on my wall gotta have you on my wall, 'cause I want your skulls I need your skulls I want your skulls I need your skulls collect the heads of little girls and put 'em on my wall hack the heads off little girls and put 'em on my wall I want your skulls I need your skulls I want your skulls I need your skulls

I've wondered about Yoko's recordings.
I've seen footage of her yelping while John played and that wasn't too great, but I like Plastic Ono Band a lot.

Forget the stigmata that comes with the title track - everybody and their sucky dog has covered it over the years - but the truth is it's a really solid album - perfect if not for them sticking a live Everly Bros cover (not bad, but I'd rather have another Paul tune) towards the end.

Write Me a Letter - not a single, doesn't even have it's own wiki page or All Music Guide entry, but man, it's stuck in my head now.

I think seeing Baby Driver on Jason Schwartzman's Myspace song mix (songs with 'baby' in them) is what put this album back in my mind.

Grouper - Dragging a Dead Deer Up a Hill

Sorry to double post but i've recently quit my job and for the past two weeks i've done absolutely nothing but constantly make music and listen to music. So far this album sums up how i feel about life a little too perfectly. You just kind of float along through this wash of sound. It must be what its like to do heroin. I'm just sayin'....

If you like classical music, IDM, breakcore, and prefer they all be combined, this may be the album for you.

Two new EP's from Zach Condon/Beirut. The first EP, March of the Zapotec is very Gulag Orkestar and I was hoping he was going to continue the French stuff he was doing with Flying Club Cup. Zach's voice is so beautiful. One of my favorite voices in music. The Shrew is especially fantastic. Haven't listened to the second EP, Realpeople Holland. Supposedly it's his Electronic EP and I don't know if I'm ready for that. I'm going to save it until I'm in bed with headphones.

I'm like the last dude on Earth for this but I hadn't listened to Beirut before today really.  I remember reading about Gulag when it came out, but I was like gypsy-trumpet-what?  No thanks.  But guess what?

I was wrong.

I had actually heard him when I was out someplace a few months ago and remember thinking "this is good, whatever this is" and my gf was like "it's Beirut".  So today I looked in my iTunes, pulled out ol' Flying Cup Club and have downloaded Gulag and Lon and am diving in.  Oh, and I got this new one.

Where do I start?

I love Nantes, Elephant Gun, Postcards From Italy, and Mount Wroclai (Idle Days).

Lon Gisland is my favorite piece of work from him. Elephant Gun and the re-working of Scenic World on this EP are two of the best things he's done. The version of Scenic World on Gulag Orkestar is one of my least favorite songs of his, but the version on Lon Gisland is one of my faves. Go figure. Gulag as a whole, I'm not a big fan of, it's got it's moments, but that's mostly due to his beautiful voice. Flying Club Cup is his best album. It's so beautiful. As weird as it sounds, I consider Hotel Chevalier and Flying Club Cup to be synonymous with eachother and they aren't even related. Flying Club Cup leaked the exact same time that Hotel Chevalier did, and they are both very Frenchy, so to me, they go together. It's hard to explain.

He's also from my hometown of Santa Fe, New Mexico, which is awesome. He's also only, like, 22 years old which is unfathomable.

The EP seems to be getting mixed reviews from around the web. At least everything I'm reading. I like the direction he's going in, but as with everything he does, it's so different and takes some getting used to.

I'd stick to Flying Club Cup and Lon Gisland, but get a taste of everything he does. Everyone is different and his band and his voice is so good that you really can't go wrong.
