i loved it.  very funny.  have yet to be disappointed by Pixar.  when your 'worst' movie is A Bugs Life, you are doing pretty well, (in my opinion.)  although, honestly i am more looking foward to The Incredibles.  great teaser.  hmm... thoughts?

I like Toy Story, Monsters Inc, and Finding Nemo for their complete sincerity. You can't find that in a movie like Shrek.

Nemo has all the delicate emotion of Monsters Inc, and all the perspective of Bambi or Planet of the Apes. I always enjoy the "human as evil animal killer" thing.

The plot and story could have been much better, but it was all done so perfectly. Really an unoriginal and (on its surface) boring story... but they make it work. Beautiful animation. Rich, colorful, and not trying to be too realistic (that would be creepy).

Pixar is out to profit from the hands of Mini Van driving Soccer families...Every fucking movie they release has some connection to a corporation of the same goal. Pixar simply uses computer animation of a very dull and to the point sort of way. I'm not at all completely against the use of computers for film. I think david fincher & paul thomas anderson use cgi to it's full advantage in a very original way...When a movie is entirely made up of computer animation with no creativity and a G-rated plot then i get annoyed...i keep remembering the fish with the god damned surfer voice in those commercials. the voice overs are out to please kids it seems...the supposed "humor" just isnt funny to me....it makes me sick to my stomach.  Simply put I feel Pixar is taking advantage of theater space with their propaganda bullshit.  they seem a part of all that is wrong with this day... Not to judge differing opinions, this is just how I feel about Pixar.

So, you would rather have your 4 year old see boogie nights than Finding Nemo?  There are some movies that are made to appease the younger audience.  If you ask me there aren't enough G or PG rated movies in theaters.  Maybe they aren't as groundbreaking as PDL, but they put a smile on a childs face and that to me is not a bad thing.

P.S.  I'm sorry if I offended anyone.  I certantly don't mean it.  It is 4 am and I can rant about things when I am tired.

P.S.S.  (For the record PTA is my favorite director and I would in no way try to put down his films.  I just don't think they are for my children.)

I think Pixar is one of the best companies in Hollywood. Their output is so consistently amazing, and Finding Nemo is no exception. I didn't love it as much as Monsters Inc (which is a truly great film) or the Toy Story movies, but I liked it a whole heck of a lot all the same. I'd go see this again before I see Matrix Reloaded for a second time.

What ever happened to movies like The Never Ending Story & Ghostbusters for kids?....the kinda crap they are coming out with nowadays is just fucking screen saver trash.  if kids like it then they are shameless regardless, but i cant help but feel its a tragedy there are no films of quality for children to watch without reaching for a VHS.

Anyway this is all beside the point. ..if this was a nickelodeon message board id never had said anything to begin with.  we are all far beyond the age though.

monsters inc was fucking great

i was turned off by the albert brookes ellen degenerous casting in nemo

it was like pandering to hipsters

by the way this i will say when ellen is not going on and on about politics, she is one of the most gifted comics around

and coming from me , that says a lot, you would think i would hate her

but she is a fucking great stand up, and has great comedic instincts

but that whole ann heche era made me ill

but i did love her hbo special she did last, any student of comedy can watch her special and david cross's special and tell you which one is a real comic

Sleuth

Obviously it's David Cross

And I think the last good children's movie was Babe

what the fuck? i'm sorry, i'm 19yrs 5 months and 8 days old, what should i like?

maybe u could direct me to the corresponding chart or the educational authorities that drilled that shit into ur head. if anyone's braindead here it's u for buying into cheap advertising telling u that Toy Story or Monsters Inc aren't worthy of 12yr+ old eyes.

Nemo was a unique film.  I watched it with some pretty cynical assholes who think it's fun and cute to trash kids movies, but what I find really great about Pixar is how their films work for children and adults without pandering to the LCD of fart/penis jokes a la Shrek.  Another classic achievement, and I look forward to the incredibles!  That trailer was hysterical.
