Okay. thanks Macguffin. I am on top of it. Like shrimps on a tugboat. Dreyer is not good (i like most denmark filmmakers) but I will give it a try.

EDIT: Just got back from the dvd store and couldn't find any Dreyer :o( Did pick up a used copy criterion 39 steps for 10 dollars (great condition) and a used copy of hurlyburly.

It's very good... I watched it over six nights as recommended by Peter Cowie in the video essay on disc 3, just because that seemed to replicate the "original" more closely that way and also because 5 1/2 hours of dissolution and shattered dreams and expectations could be grueling... it was sometimes hard not to go on to the next one, though...
""Money doesn't come into it. It never has. I do what I do because it's all that I am." - Morrissey

"Lacan stressed more and more in his work the power and organizing principle of the symbolic, understood as the networks, social, cultural, and linguistic, into which a child is born. These precede the birth of a child, which is why Lacan can say that language is there from before the actual moment of birth. It is there in the social structures which are at play in the family and, of course, in the ideals, goals, and histories of the parents. This world of language can hardly be grasped by the newborn and yet it will act on the whole of the child's existence."

I just bought Mulholland Drive, which I beleive is the first non-tv show dvd that I have bought in the last two months.  For some reason, I have no problem dropping 40 bucks for a season of a tv show, but can barely get myself to spend 15 dollars on a movie I really like

You could've just burned your money (or sent it to me).  It would've been faster.  The others aren't that bad, though.

Think about it this way: Mulholland Drive was originally conceived to be a TV series.
