I have got to rent Dirty Pretty Things. That and School of Rock (for the Mike White connection). Definitely must-rents, probably not blind-buys for me...
""Money doesn't come into it. It never has. I do what I do because it's all that I am." - Morrissey

"Lacan stressed more and more in his work the power and organizing principle of the symbolic, understood as the networks, social, cultural, and linguistic, into which a child is born. These precede the birth of a child, which is why Lacan can say that language is there from before the actual moment of birth. It is there in the social structures which are at play in the family and, of course, in the ideals, goals, and histories of the parents. This world of language can hardly be grasped by the newborn and yet it will act on the whole of the child's existence."

no, Columbia House special "4 $15 dvds for $30" (plus $2 tax/freeshipping.)
Christopher Nolan's directive was clear to everyone in the cast and crew: Use CGI only as a last resort.

BAH.  At a screening of Kill Bill I went to, Tarantino (he attended) told us that after Volume II is released, he's going to do what was recently done for Once Upon a Time in America and cut both volumes together and re-edit here and there to form what will be the ultimate version of Kill Bill, complete and as he originally envisioned.  He also said he planned to load up the DVD with awesome special features.  So all of you who like to go pre-order happy, I don't think I need to do any more convincing as to why you shouldn't for Kill Bill.

I blind bought this:

Does anyone own Bresson's Les Dames du Bois de Boulogne?  How is it?

i intend to buy that copy as well...i've stated this before, i don't really care all that much about the dvd as long as i have the movie....sure that super volume we get in the future will be awesome and i will buy, but i don't wanna just rent this over and over when i wanna watch it before that volume comes out....besides, my dad paid for it anyways  :)

It's very good, but he's just starting to get "Bressonian." It's not quite so peculiarly unique as the rest of his films starting with Country Priest. It's very worth seeing, though.
