Of all people, Pubrick asks me that question.

I don't know about you guys, but I think this thread should be locked.

i don't know what that means. what the hell does the number of pages in a thread have to do with when it's locked?

if your intent is to derail this glorious thread (prolly the most on-topic next to Now Playing) to cause lockage, then you can just forget it. your random suggestion makes no sense and will not be implemented.

I don't know if "on topic" is necessarily good in this case. Since I thought my original comment was self explanatory, allow me to elaborate. In other forums, when a thread is simple enough that it becomes almost endlessly redundant, they close it after it gets to such an extremity. Like a retirement.

yeah but why bring it up after 200 pages and not 100 or even 2? it was plainly obvious this was a neverending thread from the very first post.

let's lock ur criterion thread cos there'll never be an end to criterion news. let's lock now playing cos ppl will never stop hearing music. let's lock every thread that has any potential to exceed your arbitrary limits.

other threads like what you describe have been locked in the past, they are mostly in idle chatter and hav encouraged postwhoring. this one doesn't do that. ppl post as often as is true (or so we hope), not just to increase their post count. and that would be the only reason to lock a thread such as this.

ah, but i believe i've made complaints before. just reiterating. doesn't matter, my comment here or there doesn't change the basic opinion this thread is long gone its worth.

and the difference between my criterion thread and this is content. there is no content here. anyone can post anything at any time and it is as valuable as any other post. If Mac ever made a thread dedicated to his news tips, it would be the most invaluable thread.

i find no record of you using the word "lock" or variations thereof in this thread before today.

just on the previous page mac gave an informed response regarding Wizard Of Oz. it stemmed from the content of his post which someone found relevant and we all learned from it. it didn't take over the thread and that's what this topic is for. like the video rental thread, little reviews or little tidbits of news can be requested or offered pertaining to each other's purchases. PM me if you think there's any more inconsequential words left to say about this.

Why not just ignore it?  You don't strike me as the type to call the FCC when you see a show you don't like on TV, so why is this any different?  You think it's pointless.  Stop clicking on it.  Problem solved.  It's not as though you'll try to post somewhere else and get a message saying, "We're sorry, there's no space left. 'I Just Bought...' is using up all the internet."

The distinction we need to draw is that between the pointless thread and the worthless thread.  This is a pointless thread.  But a harmless one.  Let it alone, by god.

Thing is, I can voice my opinion but just not demand. I'd argue how "harmless" this thread really is, but remember, the other person most critical of these threads besides me is P.

Is it that time of the month, GT?  It's okay if it is, I mean really.  We're all friends here.  Here.  Feel better.

yes beware.. mothers lock up your daughters, silias and pubrick are on the loose!

this is just stupid now. suddenly it's a personal thing just because i'm the one arguing with u. polka made great points is he a boogie monster too? really, GT, ur not this petty. get over whatever u were trying to achieve here, i argued with u as reasonably as i could on the points u raised. there's no need to make this personal just to prolong the threadjack. wow, this is really the stupidest argument we've ever had. congratulations.

are u kidding me, this is just stupid now. suddenly it's a personal thing just because i'm the one arguing with u. polka made great points is he a boogie monster too? really, GT, ur not this petty. get over whatever u were trying to achieve here, i argued with u as reasonably as i could on the points u raised and there's no need to make this personal just to prolong the threadjack. wow, this is really the stupidest argument we've ever had. congratulations.

And the off topic argument you don't want, continues.

The only point of your inclusion is that my criticism here isn't solitary. Before you admit you understood my position, but everyone is reacting as I'm the only who has ever been critical of these threads. I shouldn't have isolated you as being the major critical element besides me to make it seem like a throw back in your face. I didn't mean it that way. What I mean is this criticism isn't brand new and my original comment "Can we lock this thread now" is no worst than anyone else's criticism that went unreplied to. I haven't asked for this thread to be locked before, but I've thrown jabs before.
