Quote from: petedoes the me and you dvd have a lot of good extras?
from the new Rolling Stone interview with Miranda July...

RS: The extra scenes on the DVD...
July: Really?   Does that exist?

RS: There were about for or five scenes...
July: This is the DVD?  Fuckin' A.  I had zero approval on that.  This DVD thing has been a total fiasco.

RS: Don't you like DVDs?
July: They're great.  I'm happy it's coming out on DVD, but I just wanted some involvement in the process.  I'd like to be asked, you know?

The Perineum Falcon

We often went to the cinema, the screen would light up and we would tremble, but also, increasingly often, Madeleine and I were disappointed. The images had dated, they jittered, and Marilyn Monroe had gotten terribly old. We were sad, this wasn't the film we had dreamed of, this wasn't the total film that we all carried around inside us, this film that we would have wanted to make, or, more secretly, no doubt, that we would have wanted to live.

I got Arrested Development at Fry's for $24.99.  Target had it for $27.99.  Fry's isn't as common as BB, though Reward Zone only costs what, $10 to join?

Quote from: MacGuffinBatman Anthology Collection

So are you planning to burn Batman Forever and Batman & Robin in some sort of sacrifice to the movie Gods, or was the cost of the collection simply identitcal to the cost of the Batman and Batman Returns sp. eds. combined?

This Week:
Land of the Dead
Oldboy

5 FILMS = $80

i have been waiting SEVEN YEARS for a SE of Batman and Batman Returns.  since my family first got a dvd player in 98 i have waited for a decent edition of these movies with any tidbit of insight into their creation.  so for seven years i have waited, and held out on buying the snapper editions waiting for the promised SE 'in the pipeline' and finally that day is here.  b&r and bf should be interesting if only to hear schumacher apologize on the commentary.  i cant wait for this.  these are my most anticipated dvds of all time.

also: got boxset at circuit city cause it was five bucks cheaper than best buy and i went in, didnt see any.  see a salesperson with one under her arm.  i point 'boxset'.  she says 'yeah'.  me: 'where are they'.  her: 'last one'.  me: 'can i have it?'  her: 'it's mine'.  me: silent devastation.  her: 'just kidding, here.'  me: (huge sigh of relief) wow, hah you really had me worried there.  her: but seriously, it was the last one.  me: (!)
but THEN they didnt have the goddamn 2 disc begins, they were sold out!  what is this bullshit in nyc?  its BATMAN!  can't they overstock and worry about having a few extras later than WAY understock and sell out in the first few hours?  they had a billion copies and everyone in line had one version or other of something batman.  it was a sight to behold.  so then i went to best buy where they had a giant line and i managed to find big displays of the one disc everywhere and finally a cardboard box with some 2 discs in it that i grabbed promptly.  it's kinda bullshit that cause they put out a shitty edition they are charging (at cheapest) 22.99 for a regular ol' 2 disc movie when it would normally be 19.99 or possibly cheaper the first week.  clever WB trying to squeeze an extra 5 bucks out of geeks like me.  and i also got the lithograph at cc and the stupid extra shell and comic at best buy.  and the extra shell is stupid cause its way bigger than the movie and unless you want to keep the comic in there forever the film will always be shuffling around and falling out everytime you pick it up.  oh well.  oh, and NO FUCKING INSERTS!?!?!?!?
