I came this close to buying that on iTunes the other day.  What do you think of it?

It's a different style of music from Portishead but equally beautiful.  :yabbse-smiley: beth's voice is just so good, I could listen to her sing Prussian Blue songs and I'd still love it.

I'll have to second that Beth Gibbons call.

I remember listening to that Beth Gibbon a lot on the Portland-Seattle drive. It made good driving music, but it didn't become a classic for me.

Me now, finally, and for the foreseeable future:

...recorded in Rome with producer Tony Visconti (Bowie's Berlin albums, T. Rex, etc.), and definitely with something for Italian film fans. The second song, "Dear God, Please Help Me" is a ballad with orchestration by Ennio Morricone, and the third song (and single), "You Have Killed Me," lyrically venerates Pasolini, Visconti, and Anna Magnani. Final judgment/comments reserved 'til official release time early next month.

"Lacan stressed more and more in his work the power and organizing principle of the symbolic, understood as the networks, social, cultural, and linguistic, into which a child is born. These precede the birth of a child, which is why Lacan can say that language is there from before the actual moment of birth. It is there in the social structures which are at play in the family and, of course, in the ideals, goals, and histories of the parents. This world of language can hardly be grasped by the newborn and yet it will act on the whole of the child's existence."
