The Apu Trilogy
I was going to purchase those a good while ago but Ravi informed me from links that the quality of the discs is pretty poor and with the flimsy extras and high prices, isn't really worth purchasing..  :(

I don't know if you had seen this show when it was on, but like S.W.C and UCB, i can't praise this enough. Judd Apatow does not get the credit he deserves, and after watching all these episodes, it makes me excited for the movie he is doing with Steve Carell.

They will have to take it up with my generous early birthday well-wishers...  :)

"Lacan stressed more and more in his work the power and organizing principle of the symbolic, understood as the networks, social, cultural, and linguistic, into which a child is born. These precede the birth of a child, which is why Lacan can say that language is there from before the actual moment of birth. It is there in the social structures which are at play in the family and, of course, in the ideals, goals, and histories of the parents. This world of language can hardly be grasped by the newborn and yet it will act on the whole of the child's existence."

It was indeed a really great show. Great characters, great soundtrack and great period feel. I'd stop whatever I was doing to watch this every sunday afternoon when it was aired here.

I saw enough of the episodes to make me really look forward to seeing them all in order... I am a fan of the talent involved, especially Miguel Arteta and Mike White.

Christopher Nolan's directive was clear to everyone in the cast and crew: Use CGI only as a last resort.

Today from Borders:

Leaving Las Vegas ($14.99)

I really should be required to stay 100 yards away from any Borders.  Always want to buy the whole store.

Ordered about a week ago, just came in from Hong Kong:

Fat Girl (Region 0) ($2.99 -- but they really get you on S/H)
