Two Lane Blacktop

Headphones: self-titled

This is a couple of the guys from Pedro The Lion, and a guy from Starflyer 59, neither being bands I've ever heard.   But this album is freakin' GREAT-  it sounds like Jeff Tweedy from Wilco, singing on a Magnetic Fields album.  I love it.

i love this song... a lot.  i just discovered pulp recently through their Hits cd.  i love the first 9 songs and dont care for the last 9.  the best part of babies is the buildup and then when he says "i only went with her cause she looks like you, MY GOD!"  anyone who hasnt heard this song.  please hear it.
Christopher Nolan's directive was clear to everyone in the cast and crew: Use CGI only as a last resort.

Obviously what you are doing right now is called (in my upcoming book of psychology at least) validation. I think it's a normal thing to do. People will reply, say anything, and then you're gonna do what you were subconsciently thinking of doing all along.

Both being bands I dig.

I don't have much Pedro, but Winners Never Quit is a good story/concept album about a couple of brothers.  One of my favorite album covers.

Pedro the Lion - Winners Never Quit

For Starflyer 59, pick up Everybody Makes Mistakes.  It is one of my all-time favorite albums.  They have a lot of good stuff, but this is the album that, for me, stands above the rest (they have about 9 official albums and a handful of EP's) and with the best of them.

Starflyer 59 - Everybody Makes Mistakes

Check them both out if you get the opportunity.  I haven't had a chance to listen to The Headphones but your recommendation makes me excited so I'll put it on my (long) list of albums to pick up in the near future.

I'll do so ASAP.  Thanks for the tips!  This is EXACTLY why I hang out in this thread.  :)

The album that made me a fan.

P.S.   Just checked out some samples from both of the albums you recommended and I love 'em..  I see the voice I love is David Bazan from Pedro the Lion-  that'll doubtless be the next album I track down.

this is sasu ripatti (under his vladislav delay alias) and antye greye fusch, who provides the vocals  to this album. i recommend this to everyone here who likes electronic with female vocals (everyone), it is orgasmic and if i heard this in a dark club i had never been to before i  think i would transform
