honestly, i had never heard the guy (heard of, but not listened to) till the other day when i downloaded that song and it kinda stuck with me so i hunted around and found Seven Swans which i've played a few times and like and just finally gotten Illinois.  (it took me a while to download it in all those parts).  i will say, i like what i've heard.  i will say that.  perhaps more Sufjan thoughts from me soon in his thread.

Very cool.  I recommend "Greetings From Michigan" also.  I'm not sure whether it or "Seven Swans" is my favorite.

The Illinois LP is probably the record I am most anticipating right now. I love this guy. For me, "Greetings From Michican" takes the cake, no matter how brilliant "Seven Swans" is. . . especially "Sister". . . hmm.

Right now:
(I was going to post and album but I just keep listening to the Chicago track.  :bravo:  :bravo:  :bravo: )

I've heard it through twice so far, and am pretty "eh" about it.  It's more clever than good, I think.  I liked Her Majesty when I first got, it, but then got tired of it in a hurry, and haven't listened to it in ages and ages.  I suspect this one is going to be the same way, except I'm already getting tired of it.  This is probably the last Decemberists music I'll ever get.

Great album. 'Love in a Trashcan' is one of the catchiest songs I've heard in years. Everybody has to listen to this album.

Have you seen the movie (TV special, actually)?  It's hilarious, and BAD in a lot of ways, but the ending "music video" to "Your Mother Should Know" is just amazing, in a surreal-TV kinda way.

I've read that in the 60s, some British bus companies used to host "mystery tours" where you'd pay a small fee and spend a Saturday aftrenoon riding around in the country to picnic somewhere unknown to anyone but the bus driver...  a quaint little custom that I doubt exists anymore.

I never gave Ben Folds a chance in the 90's, but now I love his dark-hearted piano pop.
