SYNOPSIS: The fantastic world of William Joyce's beloved 1990 book "A Day with Wilbur Robinson" comes to life in this comedy-adventure tale that follows one fateful day in the life of a boy-genius who creates a mysterious machine with one fantastic purpose -- to recover the lost memory of the past. What he unlocks instead is time itself, and a visit with a future, a family, and a world whose survival all depends upon him.

Directed by Stephen Anderson and produced by Dorothy McKim, Meet the Robinsons features a voice cast that includes Angela Bassett, Kelly Ripa, Tom Selleck, Harland Williams, Adam West, Tom Kenny and Ethan Sandler. Danny Elfman does the score and singers Rob Thomas and Rufus Wainwright compose original songs for the soundtrack.

"Though it's still two months or more 'til the Walt Disney Company officially completes its acquisition of Pixar Animation Studios, John Lasseter & Co. are already reportedly quietly at work on their very first project for the Mouse House. Which is to figure how to gently retool the second act of Steve Anderson's directorial debut, 'Meet the Robinsons'" The article continues, "Earlier this week, a print of this Stephen Anderson film was supposedly sent up to Emeryville. With the hope that the folks at Pixar can then figure out a way to shore up Meet the Robinsons' second act. In short, remove many of the "improvements" that were allegedly made to this motion picture while David Stainton was still in charge of WDFA."  Could this be the beginning of more Pixar "retoolings" of planned pics previously in the Disney pipeline?

honestly, even though the animation & character design isnt going to be as good as Pixar, i think it looks better than Cars.  (it probably wont be, but it LOOKS to be a more interesting setup so they still have time...)  i hope that Disney can get back on it's feet with this one.
Christopher Nolan's directive was clear to everyone in the cast and crew: Use CGI only as a last resort.
