Trailer here.

Release Date: May 12th, 2006 (wide)

Cast: Josh Lucas (John Dylan), Kurt Russell (Robert Ramsey), Richard Dreyfuss (Richard Nelson), Emmy Rossum (Jennifer Ramsey), Jacinda Barrett (Maggie James), Jimmy Bennett (Conor James) Andre Braugher (Captain Michael Bradford), Kevin Dillon (Lucky Larry), Mia Maestro (Elena Gonzalez), Freddy Rodriguez (Marco Valentin), Mike Vogel (Christian)

Director: Wolfgang Petersen (The Perfect Storm, Troy, Das Boot, Outbreak, Air Force One)

Screenwriter: Mark Protosevich (The Cell), Akiva Goldsman (Oscar-winner for A Beautiful Mind)

Based Upon: This movie is based upon the novel of the same title by Paul Gallico, which was previously adapted to film as an extremely successful 1972 disaster epic starring Gene Hackman, Shelley Winters and Ernest Borgnine.

Premise: When an underwater earthquake causes a massive tsumani to strike a large ocean cruise ship called the Poseidon during the height of a New Year's Eve celebration, the force of the wave flips the ship upside-down, forcing the survivors to try to make their way from the top of the ship (now the bottom) up through the decks and to the bottom, which is now the the only part still above water. With stairways now useless (and pretty much else literally topsy-turvy), can they make it to the surface in time?
