Trailer

From TheBaxterMovie.com:

The Baxter (noun)
Mr. Wrong.
The epitome of "settling".

In every romantic comedy there's always that scene at the end where the leading man barges through the chapel doors just as the leading lady is about to marry the Wrong Guy. This is about the guy left at the altar. The wrong guy. That guy is called the Baxter. The Baxter is the kind of guy who you "settle" for because you can't be with the one you really love.

Judging by the trailer it seems okey and cute. I figured it warranted a thread of it's own mostly due to the activity in the Stella and Theroux threads.

Christopher Nolan's directive was clear to everyone in the cast and crew: Use CGI only as a last resort.

the film's marketing describes a "baxter" as someone who is "the wrong guy" - somone who is always second priority, a third wheel, so to speak. Does anyone think that this was directly derived from Jack Lemmon's character in The Apartment - C.C BAXTER - I'd bet the bank that it was.
...your excuses are your own...

modage

it wasn't, though he keeps being asked the question.  Showalter's never seen The Apartment.
