this movie was bad.  not The Ring 2 bad where you want to throw something at the screen, but bad where you want to take a nap.  avoid this at all costs.  its not scary, its not an involving drama, none of the potential scary threads go anywhere.  its really a waste of your 2 hours.  so as far as the american remakes of asian horror films go...

The Ring - awesome



The Grudge - eh, but some pretty good scares






Dark Water - snooze

The Ring II - worst sequel of all time.
Christopher Nolan's directive was clear to everyone in the cast and crew: Use CGI only as a last resort.
