I just saw it tonight.  it got nominated for an academy award but I don't think it was that good.  It was pretty cheesy really--one of those movies that's all about adolscent innocence, but just ended up feeling really artificial--French hookers that looked like Roger Meyers women with hearts of gold and old exotic Omar Sharif imparting oriental Islamic wisdom and crazy unconditional love--kinda like Harold and Maude with an old dude instead.
The acting and the cinematography were pretty good I guess.

yeah, i didnt like it at all, Omar Shariff, was okay i guess, but the little kid was no good.
Did I just get cock-blocked by Bob Saget?
