Holy shit.  I've never seen a more disgustingly overt attempt at legitimizing pornography by bookending it with kids getting beaten and doing drugs... LOVE larry clark, but this was just too much... anyone seen it?

haven't seen it...bought bully without seeing it first...tough stuff to watch.  it's not 'friendly cinema'..where did you get to see it?

If you're talking about Kids, I just watched it last night. I think it was pretty disgusting. The kids behavior is that of animals in a jungle. The kids just fucking each other as conquests. There was absolutely no hope for these kids because they are scum. Perhaps this was the desired effect but I found it quite agonizing to watch.

That is hilarious!  If that's the most "disturbing" thing Clark puts in, then this movie is going to be horrible.  It's waaaay too over-the-top for me to take seriously.

Wait, I just thought of something.  This sounds like something Bunuel would put in for humor.

I'm against distributers editing he film but Jesus Christ! I really don't need to see a tracking shot of semen, it was just sick! Why the hell didn't they cut that?!

This film proves Clark is a sensationalist...it totally lacks character.

There was no thread...just that kids are animals but in real life kids aren't.

The whole film felt like a set-up to something...a punch-line...it never came...it just ended...and left people very unsatisfied.

Okay, I asked this in the other thread, but it seems more people are talking here...

Am I wrong in thinking that the 3 way scene near the end is imaginary or a fantasy of sorts (and I don't mean a Larry Clark masturbation fantasy, well maybe :wink: )?  All of the stories had their natural end (all downers), and then this scene came out of left field.  When the one guy talks about utopia, I instantly thought, 'oh, this is what they wish life could be like.'  The 3 are in some unnamed apartment we've never seen before, all are happy, all have escaped their situations.  Seemed like a fantasy to me.
