NEON MERCURY

Quote from: Director Alex Proyas"Gollum is a pretty cartoony character.  I hope ours will be a step beyond that in terms of reality."

Quote from: Alex Proyas"It's actually pretty hard cutting a trailer for a movie like this when so much of it is still incomplete. We have upwards of 900 vfx shots and when one of the main characters is CG it's hard to come up with enough shots at an early stage for trailers. I hated the first trailer more than anyone - it did not accurately represent the tone of the film. The new trailer is far closer to the actual flavor of the movie but is still as far as I'm concerned just scratching the surface. There will be 2 more trailers leading up to release that will give you all a pretty good insight into what the finished film will be like. Hang in there and keep letting me know your thoughts."

That's nice to hear. The new trailer is remarkably better, in that it actually looks like something that could be a potentially good action movie. I'll just keep in mind that Proyas is still two for two as far as studio films go (never got around to seeing Garage Days) and hope that this is good -- I don't see much potential for 'cool' factor, beyond what's in the trailer, but maybe it'll surprise everyone and be really intelligently written.

I MISS THE GOOD OL' DAYS
WHAT GOOD OL' DAYS?

my favourite line now is

"How many robots have ever comitted a crime?
HOW MANY ROBOTS... IN THE WORLD?"

cine

There's something very creepy about a winking robot.

"Don't think about making art, just get it done. Let everyone else decide if it's good or bad, whether they love it or hate it. While they are deciding, make even more art." - Andy Warhol

one of the robots was in my dream last night. we'll leave it at that
Did I just get cock-blocked by Bob Saget?

Ghostboy

Smith is a little too prominent in the design, but that's still a pretty nice poster. The robots actually look good when they're not moving.

Find Your Magali

You know what would be interesting? A movie ACTUALLY BASED on Asimov's works. The stories and plots were right there for them.

But, no, it appears to be just another man vs. machine action movie with all the true sci-fi and philosophy stripped away.

And could Bruce Greenwood's character be any more obvious as the Bad Man in the trailer? What a waste of a great actor.

I'll choose to remember Proyas by Dark City, thanks.
