Alright, Operation Breathe Forum Life in full effect. I cant believe there's only one post about The Substance.


Tho I've still only seen it once, this was easily a top movie memory for 2024. The relentless, sexy, funny, and gross of it all. Rare is it anymore to be so filled with hope over the medium, the state of it. This movie stands gyrating and perky, bleeding from its eyes without blinking. And we are curled on the floor, burst open, hoping to steal an extra day of how it has made us feel.

It's my favorite movie of 2024 at this point. Felt like it was made for me in a lab.

Like mother!, it's a persuasive reminder that subtlety isn't everything. And perfect execution of a "things fall apart" final act.

It's also really satisfying to see the ascension of Coralie Fargeat.
