there's that colour thing again.

they better have a good reason for killing these people.

I'm just sick of this senseless bullshit,  it's such a cheap device.
under the paving stones.

I'm in.

It seems like home invasion horror movies are the toughest horror genre to fuck up. Funny Games, The Strangers, Ils, Inside, Secuestrados... This one feels like a worthy addition to the group.

Looks like Lion's Gate is going to sit on this one for a year.  I hope not, because this is one of the funnest horror films to come out in a really long time and it would be a shame to toss it out with the rest of the Saw and Paranormal Activity sequels next year.
This is a pretty straightforward home invasion movie.  It's like a much more exciting and action-packed version of "The Strangers".  It stays traditional enough to not feel like it's trying too hard to be different, but it changes things up enough to actually be different and stay engaging.
Directors Ti West and Joe Swanberg are in the movie and they're actually really good!  It doesn't come off as pretentious having them in it at all.
I really want this to come out sooner than next year because A: I want to see it again and B: I want the song that's played in it over and over again () to become available over iTunes, Spotify, etc... instead of only on Youtube.

I guess that doesn't really do much good other than to say "I liked it".
And spoiler, P: They ARE killing people for a reason.

One thing that trailer leaves out is that this movie is pretty funny too.

I wanted to love this with all my heart but it did almost nothing for me.  :yabbse-undecided:

The filmmakers seem like nice dudes though.
Christopher Nolan's directive was clear to everyone in the cast and crew: Use CGI only as a last resort.

Ghostboy

I had a blast with this. It's more fun than scary, and while it's violent, it isn't brutal like The Strangers. It's a crowd-pleaser.
