whenever this trailer showed before inception and the title came up "From the Mind of M. Night Shyamalan" the entire audience erupted into laughter.

Is Shyamalan going to become the new Tommy Wiseau?

Hahahahaha.
Christopher Nolan's directive was clear to everyone in the cast and crew: Use CGI only as a last resort.

Sleepless

He held on. The dolphin and all the rest of its pod turned and swam out to sea, and still he held on. This is it, he thought. Then he remembered that they were air-breathers too. It was going to be all right.

My money is staying far away from this film.  Just goes to show if you make a film that is as successful as "The Sixth Sense" then studios will just keep giving you money 11 years later.
it's not the wrench, it's the plumber.

Spoiler Alert: The Devil is the button for the 5th floor.  And also, the button's dead.

I found the last page to the screenplay...

SPOILERS

...as SECURITY GUARD RICK and ONE LEGGED GENE watch the camera feed of the last elevator rider dying, GENE turns to RICK.

ONE LEGGED GENE: Wait, they all died... I thought one of them was the devil.

SECURITY GUARD RICK: Not one of THEM

ONE LEGGED GENE: You mean...?

SECURITY GUARD RICK: Yes, it turns out that the whole time, the devil was...
(He points a finger at Gene, but turns the direction of his finger to point directly at the camera, addressing the audience)
... YOU!

CUT TO BLACK

M. Night is the devil.

In a self-serving cameo.
Falling in love is the greatest joy in life. Followed closely by sneaking into a gated community late at night and firing a gun into the air.

Shyamalan mocks himself with devil on an ESCALATOR spoof

M. Night Shyamalan doesn't have the rep of being a guy with much of a sense of humor—after all, he recently told a reporter whose question he didn't like that "If I thought like you, I'd kill myself!"—but maybe he's mellowing. How else would you explain the spoof trailer of his devil-in-an-elevator movie set on an ESCALATOR?

Escalation, starring Shyamalan, MTV Movies correspondent Josh Horowitz, Penthouse Pet Ryan Keely and a special guest star from Avatar, won't win the participants any acting awards. But if nothing else, we're glad to see the director not taking himself quite so seriously.

Check it out below.

I almost feel sorry for the guy at this point. I mean, I don't really, because he's such an insufferable egotist, but it's got to be hard for someone so convinced of his own genius to try to comprehend why nobody else is. He was obviously coerced into this by a publicist or somebody, as there's no way he would voluntarily make fun of what I'm sure he believes is one of the greatest movie concepts of all time.

On a side note, why is Hollywood convinced that "funny" Internet videos are the magic bullet that will solve any public relations problem? It seems like every time a Lindsay Lohan or a Mel Gibson or a Heidi Montag does something stupid and realizes everybody hates them, they immediately respond with a half-assed Funny or Die video.
