Premise: When he arrives on the rural Louisiana farm of Louis Sweetzer, the Reverend Cotton Marcus expects to perform just another routine "exorcism" on a disturbed religious fanatic. An earnest fundamentalist, Sweetzer has contacted the charismatic preacher as a last resort, certain his teenage daughter Nell is possessed by a demon who must be exorcized before their terrifying ordeal ends in unimaginable tragedy.

This was actually pretty good, don't ruin the ending for yourself. Good Debut

The only thing I disliked is that it went through the motions and didn't establish a quality tone. I like some of the story arcs. I liked some of the new objectives into seeing an old tale, but I never felt immersed into the environment. I think the structural objective of a narrative driven documentary kept the horror elements at bay. I also think the film didn't have enough of a graphic content level. The movie is PG 13 and the film could have made the few horrific moments really horrific if the level of disgust actually was terrifying. For me, horror movies in the 1970s better established tones so did not need graphic content levels, but this one didn't establish a tone to make the idea of the situation really horrifying for me. Turistas is a bad movie, but I love how it has one brief moment of really disgusting terror. It worked well in the film and could have helped salvage this movie.

I agrree, but im definetly glad it didnt get into gory-porn territory, or shity-cgi-demon-face territory.
