So what exactly is the concept here?! Just redo the same gags but exaggerate them until they aren't funny? Because this really doesn't seem to be parody so much as coarse pastiche.

people take comfort in familiarity i guess? it at least proves what a fine line the Apatow comedies walk on. on paper all of the gags could easily fall flat like they do here.
