Mindless fun I quite enjoyed. The Medusa scene in the original is still superior, though. Didn't need to be in 3D at all.

Agreed.  This was just a regular 2D film converted to 3D, and it showed.  It wasn't shot or edited for 3D, and the faux-3D effects were unimpressive.

I thought this was just blah.  It wasn't terrible, but there was nothing in it I could recommend.  None of the sequences were particularly impressive.  Plus, I saw this on a date gone awry, which didn't help.  But that has nothing to do with the movie...

The original is totally bad and silly, but still, it has some great sequences - particularly the Medusa fight, which totally holds up. It also has lots of nudity, which is awesome. This new one is COMPLETELY neutered in every possible way. Completely misconceived and poorly executed. Sam Worthington is borrrring.
