Very Very Intrigued and happy. Might stand up as well as 'Nixon'.
The Beatles know Jesus Christ has returned to Earth and is in Los Angeles.

I think this looks great. Strong cast.

I'd like to see a good Ron Howard movie. It's been a long time since one has come around.
Did I just get cock-blocked by Bob Saget?

The last Ron Howard movie i enjoyed was willow.

This doesn't look that good. Did i hear clint mansel/the fountain soundtrack in the second half of that trailer?

Yeah, it's in the Pride and Glory trailer too.  :ponder:

An entertaining film. There is a sad desperation in Michael Sheen's portrayal of David Frost that makes the film compellingly watchable. But simply restaging a historical event in the film's limited scope make it interesting to watch once but not revisit.
Christopher Nolan's directive was clear to everyone in the cast and crew: Use CGI only as a last resort.

Yes exactly what I thought, I didn't understand the need to actually have the interview IN the movie. the film should have concentrated on the prep and personnal aftermath, what we didn't already know or couldn't see in the actual footage. Felt a bit like an history lesson at times. And the faux-documentary method à la The Office, could have done without

I really enjoyed this and was blown away by the performances. It was really quite a revelation of a little film and while its not Ron Howards Best (Apollo 13) or my favorite (Parenthood) it certainly had high moments and its quite a nice little film about a event that made David Frosts life meaningful.

Did you not feel like it was more educational than revealing ? I mean we learned not much more than what was already known, it was no Oliver Stone enterprise if you see what I mean

SiliasRuby

Yeah, I agree Pas. I meant revealing as far as how it meant it went down.

Oh yeah yeah I know... maybe I didn't chose the right english word.

What I mean is that it felt to me a bit like those docudramas about historical events where they have actors portraying real situations re-enactment you know the kind ?

Anyway I liked the movie because I knew nothing about Watergate (I'm not american or even english speaking so bear with me) but I wondered what someone who was watching the news when it happened would get from the movie you know

MacGuffin

I really liked how it felt like you were watching a boxing match; how after a question (or round) the men would go to their separate corners and get pep talks from their 'trainers.' And what both men had at stake with a victory. And yet, it was also as engaging as any courtroom drama, like Frost was in a version of The Verdict. Great script that showcased the characters and the actors.

I couldn't get over how terribly un-developed Rebecca Hall's character was.  She was just there to look good and provide support.

I found the movie as a whole kinda meh.  I think I just don't like Peter Morgan as a writer that much.  His kind of skill is very boring to me.  Dry, sharp, yet obvious, and fairly unsubtle.  I mean the boxing match approach is well executed in writing and direction, but it's also the most obvious way to tell this story.  So it's watchable, and engaging, but very limited, and it didn't have to be.  There should have been enough juice in that orange.

I know. I was disappointed she didn't have much to do either. After being blown away by her performance in Vicky Christina, she has become a fave of mine now and hope she gets meatier roles.
