they are two bands.  when he's with his guys they're called the frames, and when he's with the girl they're the swell seasons, which sometimes tours with the dudes from the frames, but acoustic (I saw the swell seasons with a little three piece chamber ensemble backin them up).  I've seen them both, both amazing live.
