there was a sequel for ps2 but i never played it, i heard it was bad.  umjammer lammy was cool, though. very very cool, probably better than parappa. and my dream has always been to be able to play vib ribbon.

Back on topic, I wrote a rogue stunlock guide for myself. Might as well post it here.

Raikus, maybe you can tell me if/where I messed things up.

This requires Improved Backstab, Seal Fate, Relentless Strikes, and Cold Blood. (Vigor helps.)

    Ideal for the longest battles:

Cold Blood (to guarantee your first backstab critical)
Distract (if non-PVP and if it's necessary)
Cheap Shot (2 points, stunning for 4 seconds)
    BACKSTAB (2 points)
[wait until the last moment to regain maximum energy, then...]
Kidney Shot (using 4 points, restoring 25 energy, stunning for 4 seconds)
    BACKSTAB (1-2 points)
[If you're almost done, Sinister Strike and Eviscerate. If you still have a ways to go, use Thistle Tea or Blind to recover full energy, or just wait, and move on to...]
Gouge (1-2 points, stunning for 4 seconds)
    BACKSTAB (1-2 points)
    EVISCERATE (using 3-5 points)

The more casual strategy for everyday purposes:

    Distract
    Cheap Shot
    BACKSTAB
    Kidney Shot
    BACKSTAB
    SINISTER STRIKE / EVISCERATE
(finishing them off depends on how many backstab criticals you got)

If you need to pull openly:

    Gouge
    BACKSTAB
SINISTER STRIKE (if the backstab wasn't a critical)
    Kidney Shot
    BACKSTAB
    SINISTER STRIKE / EVISCERATE

If it's not a difficult battle and you think you can finish them off pretty quickly, it's better to save Cold Blood for the Eviscerate.

Additional BACKSTABs may be possible with Vigor, especially after the Cheap Shot, but it will impurify the stunlock. Also note that 3 combo points is the minimum for a Kidney Shot that will allow enough time for a Backstab. Feel free to use SINISTER STRIKE at any time if you need more combo points (and if you don't need a pure stunlock).

I've been playing XIII a lot.  The graphics are pretty bad, cell shading is pretty laughable at this stage.  The gameplay is unique, but by unique I mean inconvienent, and only really works once you're used to it.  But the storyline has kept me pretty interested so far.

The graphics may suck, but with the three panel description, detailing different angles of a headshot, it's pretty rewarding to be a sniper.

I like that game, but it's hard as fuck... even on the easy difficulty level I always get slaughtered in one of the snow levels.

Just bought "Shadow of the Colossus" for PS2.  Mmmmmm.......   8)

Come Monday I'll be able to play Grand Theft Auto anywhere I go.  Mmmmm......   :notworthy:

I only played XIII on the cube...i hated the way the controller felt (especially after coming off playing a lot of Halo 2)...it seems XIII would be more fun on the Xbox

You're insane, Walrus. XIII is graphically mindblowing. Not in terms of technical achievement, sure, but... really...

I also hate how the Gamecube controller handles the game. It would be nice to have the Mac version.

    Gamblour.

Me and some friends got drunk and played Donkey Konga. Pretty awesome.
    WWPTAD?

I'm stuck on that level where you have to escort that Adam West character in the snow... any video game where you have to protect hostages or do escorts sucks because they're always stupid and run right into gunfire.

I've really been building up the urge to play Fallout 2 again.  I love that game ever so much, so I'll probably be rambling about my adventures later on...

Try playing all-melee. I've thought of doing that, but I don't have the time or patience.

I once tried to wipe out every gang in New Reno by planting explosives on all the leaders. The game crashed so many times I eventually gave up.

    Maybe you should try that.

Nice guide JB. Pretty dead on too. I'm a different build from every other rogue I know (Ambush/Backstab with Preperation/Blade Flurry/Imp. Sap). You guide works great with mail wearers but when it comes to cloth (exception: Warlock - use stunlock) and leather I found it's best to open with max damage than stun (especially against mages because they blink out of stuns).

For mages: Ambush > Backstab > (Usually they will either Frost Nova at this point or Blink) If FN then vanish and stalk to reopen with another Ambush to kill - If Blink hit sprint and catch up but watch out for FN. And just remember, if they've blinked then they can be KS with your combos and another Backstab should do the trick. Thistle Tea is hugely important in PVP because you can get then necessary energy at any time.

For priests: Ambush > Backstab > (They will fear) PVP Trinket > Sprint > KS > Backstab > Kick > SS > Evis. The secret is to never let them get distance. They will Pain you and do that drag zap thing if you give them distance.

For rogues: Use your stunlock guide but instead of the first KS use a Rupture and then a Gouge once you have the energy (Thistle Tea very useful in this step). Be prepared for a sprint away from you (which if you have crippling poison on won't be a problem).

The whole Ambush > Backstab is the most damaging combo in the game and can be done without any problem if you learn your timing. Each server has a heartbeat and you can get a counter that will show you it or watch your cooldown counter. Hit Ambush a split second before the heartbeat and then immediatly hit Backstab. Guaranteed 1200-2600 hit off those 2 moves on my build and they happen too fast for the player to react.
Yes, to dance beneath the diamond sky with one hand waving free, silhouetted by the sea, circled by the circus sands, with all memory and fate driven deep beneath the waves, let me forget about today until tomorrow.

Thanks, Raikus.  :yabbse-grin: I don't have much PvP experience...

So for the ambush > backstab combo, do you think Cold Blood will suffice, or is Improved Ambush necessary?

I played all Melee once.  I even took on Frank Horrigan hand to hand (which was NOT easy).  I had taken a few liberties like using Wine, Rotgut and other kinds of alcohol on him to make him lose Perception.  I also used the Mega Power Fist, and eventually worked my way into just facing him with the regular Power Fist, without using alcohol on him, and being on a much higher level.  This was not easy at all...

I got my Unarmed so high that I could knock people out with a punch to the head (God bless the Slayer perk).

If you think all melee is hard, try going all diplomat (high speech, barter, etc.) Now THAT is trying on your nerves.

Also, there are patches scattered about the internet to fix that freezing, and I have to say it's one of the more annoying aspects about Fallout 2, but I have come to peace with it.  If you think it's hard killing every boss, try working for every boss (yeah, it's possible, it's just a very peculiar order)

God, I am going to go play this right now...

The problem was that I planted explosives on them and left the area quietly to avoid any consequences. When the next area loads... crash.
