Since we last caught up with MacGuffin...

so another two weeks have passed and i got a couple more steelbooks (something i'm kinda addicted to right now)

not really love this movie, but it is enjoyable in moments, but i gotta be honest i kinda got it to complete the set:

Got the last copy of this before it was sold out:

However, in all honesty, i'm not too happy with the cover.  it's nice that it's different then the regular release and that it's shiny steel and all that.  but the french steelbook release is way fucking cooler.  and shame on futureshop.  they got hte right idea with the disney releases, which is rare.  truthfully this is a deeper rooted canadian problem.  they need to realize that people who purchase special editions like steelbooks aren't buying it for the "popular" (which usually means inferior) cover. the image of brad Pitt is kinda lame.

general rule of thumb is that european poster art is better and more artistic then the North American counter parts.  usually canada these days gets the American art, which if you're old enough to remember wasn't always the case. back in the 70s and early 80s we'd get the british time to time due to the commonwealth and all that.

In this case with futureshop and the steelbooks, it's an alternate cover that looks fucking lame. Star trek and the Dark Knight were the same way. the dark night actually not being remotely differnt, with one exception...  i hate that blue strip on the top. which future shop has done before. it's like wtf you're all about making it steel and jazzing up the presentation by making it minimal yet... you add a giant blue strip...

here is the French cover:

way better right?  it's lame cuz American art is lame and canadian art imitates American art, so it's lamer than lame.

so in closing i think disney had more to do with their releases of steelbooks then the other companies did with these other flicks.

Obviously what you are doing right now is called (in my upcoming book of psychology at least) validation. I think it's a normal thing to do. People will reply, say anything, and then you're gonna do what you were subconsciently thinking of doing all along.
