This has been a dissapointing year so far. City of God and Whale Rider are great films. The two very best films so far this year and both couldn't be more different. Finding Nemo is the best thing Hollywood has produced in years. Kill Bill is a flawed masterpiece.

In terms of top ten list worthiness, thats it. I look forward to 21 Grams, Love Actually, The Son, Mystic River, The Last Samurai, and Cold Mountain.

Kill Bill: Volume One
Matrix Reloaded
Pirates of the Carribean
Matchstick Men
Intolerable Cruelty

I'm looking forward to: Lost in Translation, Revolutions, LOTR, Big Fish, Open Range, Seabiscuit, Mystic River, 21 Grams. Elephant, Master and Comander, Bad Santa.

For the first time in many years I'm not really excited about the new Cruise film, still will see it but it is the story that doesn't attract me.

The Silver Bullet

Thus far, my top ten is sad. Some of the films I have had to include on it, well, I didn't even like them much. So, instead, here's a top six...

01. Kill Bill Vol. 1
02. Japanese Story
03. Mystic River
04. School of Rock
05. Intolerable Cruelty
06. In the Cut
RABBIT n. pl. rab·bits or rabbit[list=1]
  • Any of various long-eared, short-tailed, burrowing mammals of the family Leporidae.
  • A hare.

Weak2ndAct

I've seen zilch of the end-of-the-year films, but I've easily got ten:

1. Dogville
2. Elephant
3. Spellbound
4. Irreversible
5. City of God
6. Kill Bill
7. Lost in Transaltion
8. All the Real Girls
9. Finding Nemo
10/11. Matrix Reloaded/Revolutions

i guess they count cos u prolly saw them this year, but i think in end of year lists we should go by imdb dates. those were 2002.

like, the silver bullet and i would be including PDL this year cos it didn't come out in aus until mid-2003. and that's boring.

so anyway, upon review, i forgot to add All the Real Girls and Finding Nemo to my list.

"Spellbound" was nominated in this year's Oscars, meaning it was qualified last year.

Skeleton FilmWorks

Weak2ndAct

Did anyone besides Academy members see Spellbound in 2002?  I didn't think it got released until this year (as w/ Irreversible).

Anyhoo, Raising Victor Vargas can be tacked on the bottom too.
