Norma Jean - O God, the Aftermath

Sigur, how is the new Norma Jean? I'm not a fan of "Bless the Martyr, Kiss the child," but they've had a few line up changes so I'm thinking I should check it out.

It's a bit more straight forward the guitar riffs are much more rock n' roll. They also have some awesome breakdowns which in my oppinion is always a good in hardcore. The new vocalist sounds pretty much as the old one, so nothing changed if you didn't like him. I also think the bassplayer is new but a bassplayer is a bassplayer right? (at least in hardcoremusic).
I would definately recommend you give it a listen.

If it has good breakdowns, I'm there. Totally agree about the bass player idea as well. Have you heard any of the new Every Time I Die?

Hot Damn I have, probably one of my favorite hardcore bands.

deathnotronic

You liked it? I can't stand how Keith's voice sounds. Too many cigarettes and too much alcohol killed his voice.

It also was much more boring. I love "Hot Damn!," though.

saw him play at a festival in 2003. didn't know who he was and what he was about. it was him and his lady friend who sings backup on the songs. he began playing on his "willie nelson" guitar and blew us away. he played for 30 minutes although he could've played for two hours. after one song he had change a string that had breaked. during his changing the string, the lady friend sang a joni mitchell song. i swear, you could hear a pin drop during this song. i don't know which song she sang, but she sang it so beautiful. it felt like damien wanted to play a couple more songs but the time was up. he said goodbye and we applauded and cheered. after the gig i went straight to the tent where they sell cd's and merchandise stuff. there was a bunch of people talking about how the great the gig was. still get shivers even today when i think about it.

kotte

He held a concert at a theatre I worked at. After it he let the idiots who just had to rush out leave and then he went out to the lobby and played some songs by himself for about 15 people.
That was really cool.
