HACKANUT

I'm guessing that truck is full of film equipment used for whatever Gary and his friends are shooting? Or the Waits movie?

Anyone remember the footage of super young PTA joking on a set how Transportation is the most important department?

It's no joke, hackanut, without transpo ya can't get the show on the road!

(I'm really hopin' that ol' Betsy comes across on screen the way she did for me... Like an add'l character. I went back thru my photos, looking for shots with her in it, and I actually miss her.  Maybe it's just a nostalgic attachment...we met her that very first night, after all.)

Has there been a change made to the NYC Q&A's? I thought there were 3 originally listed but only 2 are now.

Yes

Seems like PTA in NYC is attending on the 11th only at the SVA theater?
Or maybe is attending also 9 and 10th but since the capacity is reached the info is not written there anymore?
Anybody have anything official on this?

I may have brought this up before, but it's come flooding back this week.  In addition to fretting about whether I'll get to see the film in a matter of a few days--or if it's going to be in a few weeks,  I woke up with this thought this morning:

We're coming to the end of this "delicious agony"--this extended period of time between "It's happening!" (last Summer) and "Well, I saw it last night..." (soon).

All of that...anticipation, agony, debate, red herrings, rabid speculation...it's almost over.

Some of you might immediately say, "Fuck, yeah...it's about time, don't you think?!"

There's a little tiny part of me that I think is going to.....miss it--as odd as it sounds to hear myself say that.  It's almost like that very tiny part doesn't want to see the movie now.  Seeing it would bring a definitive close to whatever we'll call this past year.

Are these just the musings of an Old Boomer?   I don't know, endings (and pondering the next beginnings) are perhaps more weighty from my perspective.

Is anyone else going to miss this gestational period as we're about to meet the newborn?   Who knows if we'll ever be this specific kind of pregnant ever again....

Because of its lowkey rollout - I very much look forward to actual discussions regarding the thematic content, its technique and place within PTA's body of work. Watching them shoot scenes here in the Valley was unique, but I certainly won't miss months of awards-season-viability and runtime-speculation

I'm with ya. But keeping that in mind it's not over once you've seen it. Besides the months and months of new interviews/info coming out about the film, we've got endless rewatches where you know you're gonna find or feel something new.

I really do love the anticipation period, but eventually you need the release... and then on to the next one.

wilberfan

Sure. Exactly.  There's always a new phase to follow the old one...but the old one is gone.  That which is about to arrive is not yet a loss.   I will likely also mourn the few (months?) we are about to spend in thought, analysis, and interpretation when it's over next....Spring?  (Although then the Blu-Ray will arrive!!!)
