It was at the New Bev before the 2pm screening of Devil In A Blue Dress.

(I was in NYC for about 15 years, but moved out to LA 2 years ago.)
Christopher Nolan's directive was clear to everyone in the cast and crew: Use CGI only as a last resort.

Ah my and Wilber's friend Luis was at that screening!

The audience (only about 1/3 full) applauded after the trailer so I'm sure I was not the only one who came for L.P.

Yes

Still no leaks?

How come, Chief Willoghby?

I had to buy a ticket to XANADU to see it.       (Totally worth it.)

Only about 30 people at the Los Feliz 3.  Only about 4 of us were truly impressed with the trailer itself.  Hard to believe, but ol' Xannerdoo got a MUCH bigger reaction.

Weird, perhaps forbidden thought, but: Would the fact that Monday is Fiona Apple's birthday possibly keep him from releasing the trailer online on that day? Or is that just crazy

He admitted that including modern technology in a narrative was a challenge. It would be phony to pretend that cellphones don't exist.

That's cool, do you remeber by any chance  where he said that?

I remember this one. Supposed to be a French interview in 2015 if I'm not wrong, either with ParisMatch or Lemonde.

Something Spanish

Those that have seen the trailer...would be cool to hit us up with a write up....we're only going fucking nuts here for details, no big deal.

d

If those of you who saw it do not want to spoil it for us, could you at least write anything about cinematography? And did you catch the name of the editor by any chance?

Agreed, hit us with anything that would be cool

I'm at school across the country with no chance of getting to the new bev or aero, would love some more details than we got on reddit or twitter so far

Do you mean everyone else was NOT impressed with it? Or just that only 4 people were excited about it

I thought it looked great--but things are going by very quickly.  With three or four exceptions, each shot is probably up only a second or two.  Bowie's blasting, and things are moving.  I wanted to try and remember as much of it as I could (even brought along a little notebook to make notes later) but it all washes over you--there's no time to savor anything.

Instead of frustrating (which I guess it is), I thought it rather brilliant:  It forces you to experience it without being able to really think about it.   When it pauses long enough to let a couple of sequences play out briefly in real time--ear-to-ear grin on this guy.

[edit]  I meant to elaborate on the photography, but it's going by so quickly, there's no time to really study it.  It looks and feels very appropriate to the time and place, but it will take more viewings to really get granular on what's going on.

The latter is more accurate.  Most of the audience just took it in, I think, and 4 or 5 of us were more psyched to see it.   A lot of that could be me projecting my own stuff onto the others.

Thanks a lot wilberfan. Sounds great. While I do not want to know much more about the content before (hopefully) Monday, I am curious about the looks as nobody has mentioned cinematography before. Although I am suspicious about your excitement as you do not love Inherent Vice. ;)
Would you say it looks anything like IV or is it more "polished" OUATIH style? Would you say it stands out?
