"As a matter of fact I only work with the feeling of something magical, something seemingly significant. And to keep it magical I don't want to know the story involved, I just want the hypnotic effect of it somehow seeming significant without knowing why." - Len Lye

Are those in order? If so, EWS is way too low, besides that, it's a neat list.

Edit: Not one PTA film...

BANNED!

That's an amazing flim, it deserves and needs criterion treatment.

I still have to see the rest of that.  I got an hour or so into it and wound up getting into a big fight with my girlfriend over it.  The sounds of children being beaten every 2 minutes was freaking her out (I had just recently shown her City of God and she was really disturbed by it) and she wanted me to shut it off (she wasn't even in the room).  It got ugly after that.  We resolved everything but I haven't had an opportunity to watch it since.  What I had seen of it, though, was incredible and, provided that the second half was as good as the first half, then I agree that it deserves Criterion treatment, as does Chen Kaige's The Emperor and the Assassin.

Jeremy Blackman

1. Magnolia
2. Eyes Wide Shut
3. Boogie Nights
4. Lost Highway
5. Titus
6. Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me
7. Fight Club
8. All About My Mother
9. Pulp Fiction
10. Jackie Brown
