"Strummer" documentary to rock North America

Niche movie distributor IFC First Take has acquired North American theatrical and TV rights to "Joe Strummer: The Future Is Unwritten," a documentary about the late frontman of the Clash.

Directed by music-video veteran Julien Temple, the film boasts previously unseen interviews, concert footage and recordings of Strummer's BBC radio show. It will be released on November 2, simultaneously in theaters and through video-on-demand.
