Title: Speaking about war, how about "The War"
Post by: russiasusha on March 30, 2003, 03:08:31 AM
When "The War" came out in 1994, I fell in love with it and managed to see it several times in the theatres.  For some reason, I failed to get it when it came out on tape.  Thus I forgot about it up in till this real war reminded me of it.

So my question is, is it still good?  I ask this because I was 10 and liked shitty movies back then.  I also ask because I'm too poor at the moment to rent it.

One of my favourite 'feel-goods' too. Plus I think it has the best score Thomas Newman has ever done.

When it was released it was  abig critical success...I remember loving it and i remember it as the last truly good kevin costner performance. There was a lot of oscar buzz for costner, but specially for elijah wood for best actor, there was actually some campaigning for him...
