Trailer here. (http://www.apple.com/trailers/wb/teenagemutantninjaturtles/tmnt_large.html)
Synopsis: Strange events are occurring in New York City, and the Turtles are needed more than ever, but Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo have become lost and direction less. With the city at stake, it's up to Leonardo and Zen Master Splinter to restore unity and ninja discipline to the Turtles.
Wow...talk about warm waves of nostalgia! I loved the Ninja Turtles so much when I was growing up...
I didn't know they were actually making this. That's a pretty great teaser, and I love how the animation blends 2D and 3D so nicely. It may end up sucking, but for now, I love the fact that it exists.
Hell yeah. I like the look. There is, at least, nothing yet to suggest that it would be bad, so I'm gonna go ahead and keep my hopes up.
Goddamn, that was fucking awesome. I think I've heard about this, or maybe some other incarnation, going on for a while now, but this is much better than whatever that was supposed to be.

Ditto.
Writer/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator Peter Laird has said that this movie will completely ignore the third film, in which the turtles traveled through time to feudal Japan. Also, the film will be based off of the first film and portions of the second, particularly the origin of the turtles and Splinter, and the death of The Shredder.
Why didn't they do it live action? If it could be done in the late 80's/early 90's and look pretty cool then it should probably be easier and even cooler now. I'm a little turned off by this and until I see some actual movie footage this teaser failed to get me excited.

That's good news.
It's almost embarassing how excited I am; my brother and I were beyond obsessed with the movies/show when we were kids.
i think i still have my vhs of secret of the ooze around somewhere.
now for the geek questions:
-will the foot soldiers be robots? or just thugs
-will krang be a character? or does it ditch that whole alternate dimension thing
-will bebop and rocksteady be villains? or will they go the obvious "couldn't get the rights" route with tokka and razar or whatever they were called.
wow, i feel like i'm 9 years old again.
Since many of you have admitted love for the Turtles, I don't feel so bad for asking this: Did anybody else paint themselves green or try to make ooze, or something else similar to that?
I don't even remember the painting myself thing. Oh wait, it was with color markers. Apparently I waited 'till I was alone in the house and then started coloring my whole arm. I probably would have gotten further if they didn't stop me.

Phew, I thought I was the only one.
Am I completely forgetting any other movies here, or is this the first CG movie I know of that's not bright, colorful, and shiny (i.e. pixar and other kid's movies)?
If so, I'm excited.

Dude, a totally New Trailer here. (http://pdl.warnerbros.com/wbmovies/tmnt/trailer/trailer_500.mov)
has there ever been such a decrease in quality from the teaser to the official trailer? that was pretty horrible. I'm gonna go play the turtles arcade game now.
I think its the compression quality of that MTV site that sucks... and the buffering/streaming thing is way worse than any Quicktime trailer.
Overall it seems fun, but I'm not sure about those aliens. Did they exist before in the cartoons or something? I remember about 'Kang' and some other characters, but this looks brand new.
I dont know but I have the feeling that the Weinsteins are fucking up a lot of projects... not sure how successful they've been so far with their new company, but I dont think its going so well for them so far...
so, there's REALLY no shredder?
Cowabunga! TMNT Voice Cast Revealed!
Plus, check out the new poster and pics!
Hot on the heels of news that Patrick Stewart will be voicing the villainous Max Winters in TMNT comes word that four other stars are lending their vocal talents to the CG-animated big-screen return of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Zhang Ziyi (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon), Chris Evans (Fantastic Four) and filmmaker-actor Kevin Smith (Clerks) have been cast in Kevin Munroe's feature filmmaking debut.
Ziyi, according to USA Today, voices "Karai, who leads an evil army known as the Foot Ninjas into battle against the turtle brothers."
The paper adds that Gellar will voice April, "the human researcher who serves as the Turtles' tech-services worker and mother figure." Evans will provide the vocals for Casey Jones, while Smith has a cameo "as a greasy-spoon chef."
The heroic turtles Donatello, Leonardo, Michelangelo and Raphael will not be voiced by celebrities, however.

TMNT Sequel Planned, Could We See Shredder?Source: FirstShowing.net
Just 3 weeks before the film opens, TMNT director Kevin Munroe discussed in an exclusive interview with FirstShowing.net at WonderCon in San Francisco the possibilities of sequels, including the return of Shredder to the long-running Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise. A new set of mythological creatures arrives, along with the villain Karai in the upcoming CGI film due out in just a few weeks. There has been continual criticism for the lack of Shredder, but that concern may finally be remedied! Read on for what Munroe had to say in regards to sequels and possibly a return of Shredder.
Take this as a spoiler or not, but when asked if the film sets up a sequel at the end, Munroe replied:
"Yea, a sequel big time. It's a very not-so-subtle nod at the end.
I'd love it to happen, I wish it was my decision. I do have a deal to do a second one, we'll just wait and see if it happens. I think it's going to depend, it's just all box office at this point."
And when asked about the possibility of seeing Shredder return in a sequel, he responded with:
"Yea, it'd nice, it'd be really cool. As a fan I'd love that."
"Because we now have these sort of better Shredder stories of how to bring Shredder back. But now if it works out well, and Karai coming to New York, that's a setup for a really good volume in The Turtes in the comics as well, it could work out to a really cool sequel."
