I know, I know, I don't blame my ignorance but I do allow that it's probly a film that you have to be in the right frame for, and when I saw it second time I was feeling more critical and had been reading a lot of stuff about gender and I got cross about the whole Lena-mother, oedipal thing in there. God, JB, reading can get in the way of innocent pleasure, can't it? But I did still recognise that it is an amazing and poetic film and another time I may fall in love with its idiosyncrasies again but that time, no. Maybe that makes it even better. One thing I do yearn for is for it to be twice the length, though. I do think PTA's particular beauty, aside from his poetry, is his garrulity - is that a word? - and I did think that some of the jokes in PDL are really lame.

When I saw PDL, I had a SCREAMING HEADACHE, so that probably affected my lukewarm opinion of it.

Playing with font size is ever so much fun.

The two go together like vodka and handguns.  Inseparable.
