another supposedly last Godzilla movie, this was directed by the guy who did Versus.  it's a weird mix of cheeky humor, in-jokes, dark comedy, Bad American English, and just straight rip-offs (not parodies) of movies like Independence Day and Matrix.
Godzilla got to fight like eight or nine more famous Toho monsters, as well as the American godzilla.  those battles were generally better thought-out and more entertaining than the previous films, but still I felt like the film lacked sincerity and I really couldn't childishly root for the monster as I've done before.
I know it's kinda a trivial, dumb, childish movie, but man, I'd love to talk about it if anyone here's seen it.
