Just wanted to start a simple little thread to see what everybody is looking forward to this year...maybe get interested in some more upcoming movies based on your choices or something. Remember, try to just give one movie...your MOST anticipated. If there's more than one...by all means, list more than one. But if you're like me and you only have one...then don't list anymore. My most anticipated movie of 2003 is....
All the Real Girls!
Many of you already know this...I know, I probably sound like a broken record but I don't care. If you haven't heard of it yet...go to IMD-fucking-B right now and look it up because it is fucking life affirming in its anticipation-building beauty. Better yet...watch the immortal trailer over at Apple's site...I'm not sure of the URL. Ask Macguffin to hook you up with that if your interested...it's the best site for trailers.
Anyway, there are other movies I really want to see but this is the mother of them all. I can't wait...I'm losing sleep, I am so seeing it April 4th (<<<fucking far away)! Anyway, you probably already know the many reasons why I'm looking forward to it (Zooey, George Washington, Paul Schneider, etc.) so I'll just let that alone for now and let you guys give your 2 cents....
I'll probably get excommunicated for this, but I have to say...

There's no shame in that.
You know, I hate to admit this because I have nearly been beaten for saying it at school but....I still haven't seen The Matrix! I've always wanted to but I just keep forgetting. I definitely will now with the sequels coming out. I have to see The Terminator's too with another one of those coming out now as well.

Three months ago, I would have put Kill Bill somewhere in there, but viewing the trailer, I have very little hope in it being good. Sorry, but when a trailer is just the repitition of everything in Charlie Angels done more realistically, you kinda wonder if there is anything more to it.

Kill Bill is probably my most anticipated, but it really helps to have read the script. I just want to see if he can pull all that off...
Also, the usual suspects. RoTK, X2, Intolerable Cruelty, Bad Santa. The Matrices. All movies great and small, really. Anyone mention Neverland? And I'm really looking forward to The Hulk, not because of the lame trailer but because I trust Lee/Schamus and because the script review on AICN made it sound as good as we could hope for.
To me, Kill Bill is like a Kubrick movie. It has been so long since his last one, its like I know it has to be something special whenever he makes a movie.

I'm sorry, but these words... in this arrangement... well, lets just say it's laughable.
Totally off subject -- but Raikus, I just wanted to express my appreciation for your avatar. 'Rejected' and 'Billy's Balloon' are two of my favorite short films of all time.
I changed my first choice:

more stills from shots that probably won't be used in the final product

sphinx, youre a genius man
That last one is awesome in a very Radiohead-ish way (although this opinion is probably partially inspired by the fact that I'm currently listening to OK Computer).
I can see the Radiohead influence, Ghostboy.
All I could think was paranoid android.
Sphinx could probably make a Radiohead music video.

I think he should try
ANGER MANAGEMENT
Yes, it may be just another one of Sandler's 'Happy Madison' comedies, but teaming up with Jack Nicholson? I'm so there.
Oh yeah, that and 'Kill Bill' (but to tell you the truth, I think I was more excited about 'Kill Bill' before I saw the trailer).
Dogville

hey guys, check out this site:
http://www.empireonline.co.uk/features/spotlight/preview2003/
it kind of sums up everything that won't be an absolute sleeper in the coming year.
obviously the ones i'm most looking forward to have already been mentioned...but what about the chronicles of riddick, expected this summer? i heard that, bafflingly, judi dench is going to be in it as well as ol' slap head. (who is apparently doing a - shudder - romantic comedy. somebody should tell him, he's the new arnie, not the new bruce willis. although i can't remember bruce doing a decent romantic comedy either.)
i'm also looking forward to american wedding. although this probably has more to do with the fact that everyone in it is the same age as i am, and there's no chris klein or mena suvari this time. and stifler's dad's going to be in it.
Arnold... NOT in romantic comedies? I beg to differ...

I can hear the backlash already, but Cameron's 3-D Imax movie Ghosts of the Abyss should be pretty fantastic.
At SXSW last week, Robert Rodriguez showed about ten minutes of clips from "Once Upon A Time In Mexico," and it looks amazing. I wasn't really looking forward to it all that much, but now I can't wait.
i think robert rodriguez is so badass. im excited about it too.
1045 hours free?!?!?! WOWZA!!!!!!!!!!!!

somebody in this thread put kubrick and tarentino in the same sentence...you should be shot
that being said, i'm most looking forward to kill bill, but for reasons entirely different from everyone else who's listed it so far. for me, i'm hoping this will be the nail in the coffin for tarentino's career. resevoir dogs was fantastic. pulp fiction was amazing. that's it. you had a good career quentin, fade quitely into the background. goodbye
