So, I've figured out that I need an audio mixer. I've been looking at this one (http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/sid=040316210607024054247025295708/g=home/search/detail/base_id/104861).
However, I'm mostly interested in the pre-amplification part of it. I'm recording straight into the DV camera, but the Total Harmonic Distortion, I guess it is, is too much. Basically, there is too much hiss. I need a pre-amp with a low hiss to send a stronger signal to the DV cam, which is more acceptable for me.
Should I get a pre-amp, or just get that mixer? I don't really want to spend more than $100 on this, and that mixer is $99.99. I only have one microphone, although I suppose it is possible that someday I would want to actually mix several sources together... but for now I mainly need the pre-amp. Any thoughts as to what I should get?
