Title: need 98 pages to read?
Post by: bluejaytwist on March 10, 2004, 03:03:33 PM
i have my script up on triggerstreet - and i get either:

a) glowing, 'best thing ever' reviews
b) horrid, biggest piece of shit ever

anyways, should anyone want to comment, id be interested in your thoughts/comments

the script is with movie central at the moment, waiting review.
katherine isabelle is/was attached. its going to take some time to get funding (old board members rolling their eyes at the site of this script i assume - its been a loooooooooooooong fucking time)

parts of it did.
we shot brendan fletcher (dylans) parts
and we were to shoot trista's parts but my actress friend's mother got very sick and she had to take 6 months off from the world...so in that time - i wrote it out feature length....

overall i liked it quite a bit. your characters are distinct, interesting and well developed people.  and there's obviously a lot going on with them.

the only real problem i came across (and i can't even be sure it's a problem, as i've only read it once and therefore do not fully have a grasp on it) was the pacing. as it got towards the end it felt a bit rushed (although that may have been what you were going for), especially in the scenes with trista and louis at the restaurant.  the scene just felt a little odd to me. it could be just me though.

on a smaller note, louis' character seem like somewhat of a loser, and i questioned why two people would seemed to be so taken by him.

i don't know if any of this really makes sense, i never been very good at criticism and the like, but i gave it a shot.

could you give me a little more information on what you planned to do with the whole color scheme thing, it sounded quite interesting. anyway i hope you get it made. good luck with it.

the marketing package/copy i sent out with the script read as follows:

red, yellow and blue are primary.
yellow and blue make green.
green is the opposite of red.
but on one frantic tuesday,
a revealation will make things
very black and white

dylan, a security salesman who lacks security, is working on alison; alison, a cosmetic embalmer, uses bottles of wine to cope with her problems; trista, her mother & celebrity romance novelist is anxiously awaiting her boyfriend - louis, a thrift store owner/tomato-can boxer - to ask for her hand in marriage

a secret exists inside this circle in a story about the lack of security in relationships, family ties and fragile situations.

magnesium offers a unique outlook on life, woven through a chaotic day-in-the-life of four people who's life can twist and turn in any given direction.

it is a personal exploration of the hidden elements of crisis.
it is about trying to keep it all together, while watching it all fall apart.

but the above bit about the colors was the point of my response/your question, so -- does that help?? (especially when you connect the characters stories with their color and read that top bit??)
