Okay for the millionth time, i know I should be posting this into Tech Talk, but it seems as though no one really responds in those threads. Anyway, here's my question. I have a fairly new computer, however when I capture at a 720X480 resolution it drops crazy frames. When i capture at 380X240 it doesnt....Is this because of a cheap generic capture card that came with the computer?
If so can anyone tell me the best capture card on the market? And how much it would cost?
People read the Tech Talk...but maybe nobody knows the answere.
go with a nice expensive matrox card ($500+), and you should be okay

Ummm....anything near the $100-$200 level that's good? lol
Whadda guys think about the ATI All-In-Wonder® 9800 Pro 128MB AGP Video Card?
That's probably about what you already have in your computer...
Michael Alessandro would be the best guy to ask.
I bought Pinnacle Studio DV that included a capture card and software. It has worked flawlessly. I got it with rebate for $70 or so. Normally it's over $100 I think.
Here's a stupid question....how do i find out what kind of capture card i have in my comp?
"legacy capture device..."
what the hell kind of capture card is this?!?!!
clearly not quality enough for an Armenian.
I had an ATI All In Wonder Pro card before I bought my first Mac four years ago. It worked very nicely. Until I got the Mac. Then I stopped using it.
It honestly sounds like you have a memory problem, especially since it works fine at a lower resolution. I know that was covered in your first thread on the topic, though.
so uhhh....i got the problem fixed....
stupid ass me this whole time was capturing from the camera....using a USB port...rather than an firewire cable...
IM SPETICAL!!!!
