Title: Export and Disk Space question
Post by: SoNowThen on January 06, 2004, 08:55:34 AM
Ah, the joys of computer editing...

I'm getting loaded up on my comp hard drive space, mostly because of the "preview files" that Premier Pro builds during my editing. Can I delete some of these files, or will that dick up my project and put my clips offline?

Also, out of the blue yesterday, I can't export to mpeg, nor can I use the presets to export to MP2DVD. All the program lets me create is avi files, the quality of which is questionable. Yet I've been able to make top quality dvds just a month ago from this computer, using all the same programs. Now it prompts me to go online or phone and get some MainConcept mpeg codec activation code. Anybody ever heard of anything like this??? My editing computer has never been (and never will be) hooked up to the internet.

Idiot! You should be using an external hard drive! Same thing in any editing program. It backs up render files, etc. Plus, every 5 minutes of DV equals 1 GB. Get an external and put everything onto it. Give your computer some breathing room and it'll operate fine.  :x
